Drive of beer pumps for beer dispensing

Oil-free compressed air for your beer dispensing system

Best beer quality due to oil-free compressors

Compressed air has become a very efficient tool in the beverage industry. Oil-free compressed air is particularly economical, environmentally friendly and meets the highest requirements for air purity.

Oil-free compressors, such as oil-free compressor stations from Dürr Technik, are used as compressed air sources for the operation of beer dispensing systems. For beer dispensing systems with a beer pump system, our oil-free compressors may be used to drive your beer pump. By using a beer pump system with compressed air you can reduce the system pressure and thus minimize carbonation and beer loss.

Compressor-driven beer pumps are environmentally friendly and significantly reduce the CO2 footprint and gas consumption.

Advantages of Dürr Technik compressors for your beer dispensing system

  • Savings in gas costs
  • Significant reduction in CO2 consumption
  • Logistics with CO2 bottles is reduced
  • Improved occupational safety
  • Reduction of beer losses up to 25%
  • Optimum emptying of beer tanks
  • Best beer quality even with long beverage lines
  • Low carbonation of the beer
  • Convenient tapping of beverages
  • Short tapping times

Versatile application possibilities

Due to our many years of experience and expertise in oil-free compressor technology for the beverage industry, we have developed our oil-free compressors to meet a wide range of applications. With our portfolio you can cover the complete air demand of dispensing systems. Our compressors are often used to drive beer pumps. They are also used for the following applications:

  • all dispensing systems that are supplied with gas pumps
  • optimal emptying of beer tanks
  • the drive of sirup pumps
  • the production of compressed air for nitrogen generators
  • bag-in-box system
  • franchise stores
  • drive of cleaning pumps
  • Satellite Stores

Quality through highest air purity

Compressed air purity is an important criterion for many applications in the beverage industry and has a major impact on the quality of the end product. The compressed air used to drive the pump does not come into contact with the beer and thus protects against contamination and oxidation. And even if the beer pump increases the pressure in the beer line, the own gas in the beer cannot escape. In this way, you can maintain the natural carbonation level in the beer and offer your customers high-quality draught beer.

Reliable drive for your pneumatic beverage pump

In addition to bars and pubs, our oil-free compressors can also be found in sports stadiums and cinemas, where our products prove to be absolutely reliable for high demand and the need to serve a large number of customers in the shortest possible time.

In combination with a pneumatically operated beverage pump, such as a renowned Flojet or Shurflo pump in a dispensing system, oil-free compressors from Dürr Technik are reliable and long-lasting, especially at peak times. Equipped with a 3µ particle filter, the oil-free compressors from Dürr Technik also ensure that the beer pumps remain clean inside.

Find the various drives for your pneumatically operated beverage pump

Compressor type and number of pumps depending on tap volume
Type Size of vessel in litre
Number of pumps* Max. dispensed
volumes supported in l/min
UA-025 3 1 2
WA-038 10 2 4
TA-038 25 2 4
TA-061 25 4 8
TA-065 25 4 8
TA-100C1 25 8 16
TAG-132 25 9 18
TA-200C1 25 16 32

*Please note:

The number of beer pumps is based on an assumption of 2.5 bar operating pressure, a maximum tapping volume of 2 l/min and a required air volume of 12 l/min/pump. It only serves as an orientation guide.

For the correct selection of the compressor type, the required maximum tapping volume in l/min is decisive, independent of the number of connected beverage pumps; e.g. UA-025 may be sufficient for the operation of 5 pumps if the maximum tapping volume at peak time is less than 2 l/min.

Generally applies: The number of connected pumps depends on

  • Cable length
  • Cable diameter
  • Operating pressure
  • Required air volume
